- What ages are welcome to join?:
Lower Mac Mustangs welcomes all participants in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. We will accept children entering Pre-K on a case-by-case basis. Please email our cheer coordinator to discuss if your child will be a fit in the program.- When are practices?:
Our season runs from July 28th -November 3rd. During the summer months cheer practice is held Monday - Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Lower Macungie Middle School. Once school is back in session, practice will be one day a week from 6:00 - 7:30pm at Lower Macungie Middle School and the girls will arrive 45 minutes before games for warm-up and extra halftime practice.- Where are games held?:
We are a part of the EPYFL. Our games are held on weekends at various locations throughout the Lehigh Valley. Our home games are held at Emmaus High School Football Stadium.- What is included with registration?:
Registration includes the base uniform (vest, skirt, regular season bow, draw string bag, and pom-poms), practice 4 days a week in summer and 1 day a week during the school year, and games on weekends.- What extras need to be purchased?:
Cheerleaders are required to have a white crop top, navy boy shorts or bloomers, black or navy leggings, white ankle socks, and white sneakers. We have uniform try-on’s during the third week of practice. At this event, your cheerleader can try on any of the above items and order them through the organization. You are also welcome to purchase any items on your own or at uniform try-on's.- Do we offer competition cheer?:
We are a recreational football cheer organization. We do not offer competition cheer. We have partnered with Valley Elite who runs a recreational competition cheer team during our off season. We encourage all Mustang Cheerleaders interested in competition to join their recreational competition team.- Do we offer clinics for our athletes?:
YES! We are partnered with Valley Athletics, a competitive cheer gym, located in Allentown for tumbling and stunting clinics each year. They are also available for private lessons to anyone looking for one-on-one help with any stunts or tumbling.
